Home Renovations & Full House Refurbishments
Whole-home renovations and full house refurbishments — structural, mechanical and finishing works delivered under a single fixed programme.
Haarth delivers whole-home renovations and full house refurbishments across London and the South East. From structural alterations and rewires to bespoke kitchens, bathrooms and joinery, every trade is coordinated by a dedicated project manager under a fixed programme and price.
What a whole-home renovation includes
A whole-home renovation is a phased programme that touches every part of the property. Typical Haarth home renovations combine structural alterations (removing internal walls, adding steels, reconfiguring layouts), full mechanical and electrical upgrades (rewiring, new heating and plumbing systems), replastering, joinery, kitchen and bathroom fit-outs, flooring and full decoration.
We often work on properties that homeowners have just bought and want to bring up to a modern standard before moving in — as well as investor-owned properties, HMOs and portfolio landlord refurbishments.
Where a full home refurbishment adds most value
Not every pound spent on a home renovation returns the same value. Our surveyors will help you prioritise the works that most improve day-to-day living and resale value.
- Reconfiguring dark cellular layouts into open-plan living space
- Loft conversions to add a fourth or fifth bedroom
- Side-return and rear extensions to enlarge kitchens
- Full rewires and new consumer units on older properties
- Replacing old central heating with modern condensing systems
- New bespoke kitchens and bathrooms
- Full replastering, decoration and flooring throughout
Project management and disruption
Whole-home renovations are usually done vacant, which lets us run trades in parallel and finish faster. Where clients need to remain in the property, we phase the works floor-by-floor and maintain at least one functioning bathroom and kitchen throughout.
Every project has a named project manager, a printed programme in the site file, and weekly written updates so you always know what happened this week and what's happening next.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a full house renovation take?
A vacant 2–3 bedroom house typically takes 12–20 weeks. An occupied property or a project that includes a rear or side-return extension usually runs 20–36 weeks.
Do I need planning permission?
Internal refurbishment usually doesn't. Extensions, loft conversions and external alterations often need planning permission or a Certificate of Lawful Development. Haarth handles the applications on your behalf.
Can Haarth handle the architect and structural engineer too?
Yes. We work with a trusted network of architects and structural engineers and can procure the design team as part of a single design-and-build contract, or work with your existing consultants.
How do payments work?
Home renovations are paid in stage payments tied to written project milestones — never up-front in full. Every payment is invoiced with a certification of completed works to date.
Are you CHAS accredited?
Yes. Haarth Ltd is CHAS accredited and fully insured for public liability, employers' liability and contract works.
